Behind the piece, from the artist

Inspired by the magic in the changing of the seasons, the whimsy and wonder of woodlands, the relationship between women and horses, and traditional associations of the fae with nature, this season-based series is a short, personal love letter to many of the things that inspire me as an artist, all wrapped in a nod to the iconic art nouveau movement (also a personal favorite!).

For spring, I wanted to capture some of the season's dual nature: the coolness leftover from sleepy winter and the promising warmth of summer just around the corner. All of the flowers and colors were pulled from some beloved springtime blooms and the yellow-green of new leaves, with a cozy, antique gold border tying it all together. These two were such a delight for me to work on, and I hope they've planted themselves in your heart too!
